New look, who dis? With all due respect, Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean is looking incomplete these days after shaving his face.
Since the boy band onto the scene in the '90s, AJ has almost always sported a beard and mustache. Those two trademarks are now gone.

"Had to be done!" he wrote on Instagram on Oct. 27 alongside images of his fresh face. He added, "Don't worry, y'all. It will return in a month."
The singer didn't elaborate on why the razor was necessarily, but most suspect it's more a TV or film role. Many of his 1.1 million Instagram followers were stunned at the look at asked him why he shaved. Many creatively used Backstreet Boys lyrics.
"TELL ME WHYY?" one person wrote. Other said he he was "unrecognizable." Funny enough, some fans said he looked younger with the hairless face, while other felt he looked older.
Save for some early promotional photos from Backstreet's early days, AJ has maintained perfectly-coiffed facial hair.
AJ actually posted a video sporting his new look the day prior. That video centered on him waking up his daughters, but most couldn't take their eyes off his clean face.
"It's a bit weird seeing you without the beard," one person commented. Another said, "No beard is weird after seeing you with facial hair for so long but you look younger and it suits you."
